His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on Monday received in audience Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Kamikawa Yoko, who is on a two-day visit to Brunei Darussalam.
During the audience ceremony, His Majesty and Kamikawa Yoko discussed on bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Japan in the areas of energy, people-to-people exchanges, maritime security and defence.
In addition, Kamikawa Yoko conveyed congratulatory wishes on the occassion the recent birthday celebrations of Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.
In further strengthening relations between Brunei Darussalam and Japan, Kamikawa Yoko welcomed His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, to Japan for an official visit in March 2024.
Lastly, Kamikawa Yoko also conveyed congratulatory wishes on the occassion of the Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, which will be held in January 2024.
Accompanying Kamikawa Yoko was Ambassador of Japan to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru.
Also present was Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof.
The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
