The Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan (RCBSB) recently completed a vital water project in the remote Sarawak Village of Pa Adang benefiting 75 residents across 30 households with steady supply of clean water. The completion of the project exemplifies Rotary International’s commitment to global humanitarian service.

The RCBSB, comprising a team of 16 volunteers led by Organising Chairman Jimmy Chung, travelled four hours from Lawas, Sarawak on September 27 to install a 1.5-kilometre pipeline in the remote village. The project aimed to reconnect the village to a reliable water source after previous supply issues.

The chairman said, “Access to clean water is a fundamental human right. Our team was determined to overcome the logistical challenges of working in such a remote location to ensure that the people of Pa Adang have this basic necessity.”

RCBSB conducted two feasibility studies prior to implementation, ensuring the project’s viability and long-term sustainability.

Rotary International is a global network of 1.4 million members across 46,000 clubs in over 200 countries. Founded in 1905, Rotary unites business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, advance goodwill, and promote peace around the world.
