Boustead Sdn Bhd and BEE Motors Sdn Bhd recently concluded its first cross-branding PR event across the border after four days on the road in Sabah during the aptly named ‘Rock the Road’.
The convoy travelled 190 kilometres across Malaysia and included Nissan Navara, Ducati Scramblers and Monster, Suzuki Jimny owners and members of the media.
During the trip, customers tested and experienced the performance, comfort and best-in-class technologies of their vehicles through various conditions, driving on unpaved roads, navigating mountainous uphill turns and overcoming rough terrain.
The trip gave drivers first-hand experience on the potential of their vehicles.
“Nothing beats an experience that fully showcases the capability of your car,” said Boustead and BEE Motors Customer Service Manager Han Ming Kwang.
“We designed the trip where customers can understand the driving experience of their cars, from the fuel efficiency to the stability and performance.”
He added, “We aim to maximise the value to our customers by giving them a memorable experience especially with the border having re-opened.”
He said that these road trips not only allow customers to understand their cars better, but also allow the company to understand customers better.
“Knowing their needs and wants give us opportunities to serve them better in the future,” Han Ming Kwang said.
The convoy kicked off from the Ducati Beribi showroom to the Temburong District border crossing, where they entered Malaysia at Lawas state before heading to Maliau Basin through Keningau.
On the second day, the group embarked to Kundasang for a visit to Mesilau Strawberry Farm and Desa Cattle Dairy Farm.
On the final day in Kota Kinabalu, customers and committee members checked in at The Luma Hotel and enjoyed a free and easy day with their loved ones.
On each distinct route, participants tested their vehicles in reallife conditions, with checkpoints at famous landmark and destinations. The convoy pushed through rush hours and drove on weathered and misty roads along the way.
“The support we receive encourages us to keep developing PR activities with tonnes of excitement for the Nissan, Ducati and Suzuki brands,” said Rock the Road project lead and PR and Communications Executive Julia Farhanah binti Haji Mohd Yusof.
“Our main aim is to educate our customers on how they can enjoy long-distance trips safely, while also creating and sharing the best experience to show what the cars are capable of as an added value to them.”
She added, “It also provides an inclusive bonding opportunity between our team and our customers.”
