A roadshow on the impact of high sugar consumption on health was held at Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli) on Saturday.

The roadshow, organised by a group of third-year medical students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, known as SWEET Smart, hosted activities and posters about the dangers of excessive sugar intake.

A talk session was also the medical students, which focused on understanding daily sugar limits, recognising hidden sugars in nutrition labels, and the long-term health risks associated with excessive sugar consumption.

SWEET Smart’s campaign, part of their Special Study Module 3 community project, had already visited a number of schools with their message on responsible sugar intake. Their goal is to foster healthy dietary and lifestyle habits in adolescents, with the hope of reducing the prevalence of sugar-related health issues in the future. – Fadley Faisal
