Road safety: Will they ever learn?

225

It is sad that there are still many examples of poor road safety in the country, especially with drivers and passengers not wearing seat belts, and of particular concern when it applies to young children.

I recently witnessed a young man in a front passenger seat of a small car not wearing a seat belt, and the car was travelling at 135 kilometres per hour!

On another recent occasion, a car overtook me, in which the driver wasn’t wearing his seat belt, while his two young girls – also not wearing seat belts – were playing in the front and rear seats.

It seems that many people are still unaware of the serious danger of not wearing a seat belt.

The question becomes: will they ever learn?
