The road at Jalan Utama Berakas near the Institute of Brunei Technical Education School of Aviation (Lambak-bound) has been closed temporarily following the discovery of structural damage to a pedestrian bridge, the Public Works Department (JKR) under the Ministry of Development announced yesterday.
The damage, leading to debris falling from the bridge, went viral on social media on Thursday.
The temporary closure on August 1 at 9pm will be in force until further notice.
It is believed that the damage was caused by a vehicle exceeding the height limit hitting the bridge.
Road users are advised to take alternative routes to Lambak until further notice. – James Kon
