When COVID-19 hit the Sultanate two years ago, it brought along disruptions to the supply chain.
Now that we’re in the Early Endemic Phase, I thought the situation would improve.
However, we are still suffering the same shortage level that we endured at the peak of the outbreak. The prices of basic food essentials, such as meat, fish and cooking oil, continue to climb.
Then there are numerous construction projects that are put on hold because building materials are hard to come by. In addition, contractors are facing labour shortage in the back of constant pressure to meet the deadline.
I hope the authorities could look into the matter as these issues are causing stress to the populace.
