The number of new Muslim converts continue to rise following a conversion ceremony at The Walk, Beribi yesterday afternoon.
Acting Director of Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Haji Ruslan bin Haji Sulaiman, the guest of honour attended the ceremony.
The ceremony saw the conversion of a Dusun female, Issuroney binti Iko now known as Nur Issma Amanni binti Muhammad, while Simon Phillip Brunner Keenan chose his Muslim name as Muhammad Ali, and his daughter Clementine Jane Keenan is now known as Sarah.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Syahadah (declaration of faith) and followed by recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.
A Dikir Marhaban was held to celebrate the new converts followed by the presentation of gifts by the guest of honour.
From January to November this year, 400 people have embraced Islam.
From the figure, 141 converts were from the Brunei-Muara District.
