Retired health officials feted for service

Former Ministry of Health (MoH) officers and staff who retired in 2022 and 2023 were feted in a ceremony at the ministry’s premises yesterday.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar presented certificates of appreciation to 230 retirees.

“All of us who were given the opportunity to work at the MoH feel grateful, despite it being a place filled with challenges,” said Hajah Roshima binti Haji Kamal, who represented the retirees, during a speech.

“All the tiredness and feelings of stress while on duty cannot be compared to saving lives, helping and treating patients and protecting the people from infectious diseases, especially during the pandemic,” she said.

“The experiences we gained while on duty cannot be forgotten. There have been beautiful moments, and some sad ones,” she added.
