The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy through the Department of Consumer Affairs will hold a national level annual sales event – Brunei Mega Sale (JMB) 2023 – from today until May 6.
The JMB 2023 provides an opportunity for traders to attract customers by offering special discounts on goods and services to stimulate domestic consumption.
JPES invites the participation of retailers from various sectors to jointly support the national sale event and help contribute to improving the country’s economic activities by encouraging the public to spend domestically, in conjunction with the arrival of the month of Ramadhan and the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri season.
Participants in the JMB 2023 event will be featured in the PenggunaBijak mobile application through the “Sales & Discounts” feature for publicity purposes.
JPES reminds JMB 2023 participants to always conduct business and sales events ethically by complying with the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Order 2011 and the Display of Price Tag Order, by clearly displaying price tag and discounts as well as terms and conditions to ensure consumers make informed purchasing choices.
In the meantime, the Selling Price Event Notice issued by JPES must be displayed clearly and prominently at each respective business premises.
The notification form to participate in the JMB 2023 event can be downloaded from the JPES website which is www.deps.gov.bn/cad or obtained through the counter during working hours.
Completed forms can be submitted to the Department of Consumer Affairs before March 25 via e-mail sales@jpes.gov.bn or send directly to the counter at Department of Consumer Affairs, Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Room 2A3:06, Level 3, West Wing, Block 2A, Jalan Ong Sum Ping, Bandar Seri Begawan BA1131.
