Residents of Kampong Sungai Liang can now enjoy a fresh addition to the local culinary scene with the official opening of the first-ever restaurant branch of Woks! on February 6.
Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad officiated the opening ceremony accompanied by Kampong Sungai Liang Village Head Mohammad Haszrin bin Bagol.
They were welcomed by Woks! General Manager Haji Ibrahim Khalili bin Pehin Dato Haji Abdul Rahman.
In his opening speech, Haji Ibrahim Khalili explained that the concept behind Woks! is inspired by the fusion of the signature ‘wok hei’ – the distinct smoky aroma and flavour that define authentic stir-fries.
“At Woks!, no two meals need to be the same. Located in Kampong Sungai Liang, the restaurant allows diners to personalise their stir-fry experience by selecting from various starches, proteins, vegetables and one of the six in-house sauces,” he said.
He added that the countless ingredient combinations ensure that each visit offers a new and exciting flavour. “Whether sticking to a favourite mix or experimenting with something different, customers can enjoy a fresh, made-to-order meal every time they dine.” – Daniel Lim
