Renewed focus on patient-centred care and safety

Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) commemorated World Patient Safety Day 2023 by unveiling its newly revised Patient Charter, reaffirming its unwavering dedication to patient-centred care and safety.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar as Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC attended the event at Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre.

The minister said the new charter aligns with World Health Organization’s World Patient Safety Day 2023 theme ‘Engaging Patients for Patient Safety’.

It underscored the importance of involving clients and patients in the review process, emphasising the pivotal role they play in shaping healthcare journeys.

JPMC Health Information and Quality Management Manager Jeffry Damit said the revision of the Patient Charter involved contributions of eight patient representatives representing diverse perspectives.

The charter outlines patients’ rights and responsibilities, emphasising JPMC’s dedication to providing a safe, respectful and compassionate healthcare experience for all patients.

The event also celebrated JPMC’s commitment to patient safety and its 25th Silver Jubilee Anniversary.
