Remember Allah the Almighty through Zikir

The practice of Zikir, or remembrance of Allah the Almighty, is a form of worship that is highly recommended, said a religious official during the Saturday night Munajat.

Head of the Islamic Eminence Development Division at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Aziman bin Haji Zaman delivered the religious talk for the 132nd Munajat.

His tazkirah covered Zikir, explaining that it is a practice that reflected the many verses of Al-Quran, in which Allah the Almighty invited mankind to remember Him continuously.

“The benefit of remembrance is strengthening a person’s relationship with Allah the Almighty,” he said, adding that it helps remember Him in all aspects of life, including both bad and good times.

“In practice, Zikir is done by saying certain phrases or sentences continuously with full intention and awareness,” he said.

The religious officer noted some examples include Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akhbar, Lailahailla Allah and Astaghfirullah.

The Munajat was co-organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Development.
