The walkathon aimed to honour the new year of Hijrah and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by praying together in congregation, sharing a meal and walking together, symbolising the Prophet’s migration and fostering closer ties among village residents.

Before the walkathon commenced, a religious talk was delivered by a senior lecturer at the Academy of Brunei Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Haji Muhammad Rafee Shahif, followed by warm-up exercises.

Covering approximately one kilometre, the walkathon started at Kg Kilanas Mosque and concluded at Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Mukim Kilanas.

At the latter mosque, female congregants from mosques in Mukim Kilanas engaged in religious activities, including recitations of Asma Alhusna, Selawat Tafrijiyyah, and Zikir.
