The Ministry of Energy marked Nuzul Al-Quran with a religious talk on Saturday.
The event was organised by the ministry’s International Affairs Division, Policy and Strategy Division, Mini Tender Board Secretariat and Quotation Committee Secretariat.
Minister of Energy Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Mohd Hussein attended as the guest of honour.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Muhammad Hasbur Rahman bin Yahaya, followed by a talk titled ‘Companionship with Al-Quran Throughout the Ages’, delivered by Assistant Prisons Counsellor at the Prisons Department Fariszal bin Ali.
The annual event was held to commemorate the revelation of Al-Quran to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as well as fostering closer ties between the ministry’s officers and staff.
Deputy Minister of Energy Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra were also in attendance.
On April 21, the ministry and Department of Electrical Services (DES) organised a donation presentation to 21 orphans.
