Religious talk highlights soldiers’ duties

The sacrifices of a soldier begins by improving his intentions, performing righteous deeds, strengthening his relationship with Allah the Almighty, maintaining discipline, avoiding committing sinful acts and always willing to serve the religion, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the country.

This was said during the tazkirah ‘Sacrifice’ by Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Nur Amin bin Jali at a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony to welcome 30 RBAF personnel deployed as part of the Malaysian Battalion 850-10 (MALBATT) under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping mission.

Major Hisham bin Haji Mahmud led the RBAF contingent.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof attended the ceremony at Surau Ad-Difa’ at the Bolkiah Garisson. RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, service commanders and acting joint force commander, directors, military and civilian officers and personnel of the Ministry of Defence also attended.

The ceremony also saw the weekly ‘Halaqah Jumaat’ programme. The minister presented certificates to the contingent officers and personnel, followed by a doa and a group photo session. – Azlan Othman
