Religious schools welcome Year 4 students with ‘Program SIUK’

Year 4 (Darjah IV) students in religious schools across Brunei began their first day of the new academic year on Thursday, marked by the Program SIUK (Sekolahku, Ilmuku, Ugamaku, Keberkatanku), which aims to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.

In the Belait District, the Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Religious School in Kuala Belait welcomed 249 students along with their parents and guardians. The program began with briefings led by the school administration, introducing students to academic and disciplinary guidelines. Students were also given a tour of the school’s facilities and assigned to their respective classes later in the day.

A total of 746 students from 16 religious schools in the Belait District are participating in Program SIUK, which will continue until January 7. The program includes games and activities designed to help students acclimate to their new learning environment while fostering enthusiasm for their studies.

In addition to familiarising students with their schools, the initiative aims to instil a learning spirit enriched with Islamic culture and values, ensuring a positive atmosphere for both academic and personal growth. — Daniel Lim
