Religious officer underlines traits of harmonious society

Islam guides the ummah to have empathy, be caring and responsible while providing assistance to the community. If these characteristics are nurtured, the society and institutions will become more meaningful and harmonious, education officer at the Counselling Division of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Haji Samali bin Haji Adam said.

He said this from RPN Kampong Mata-Mata Mosque in Gadong during the Munajat night on Saturday, co-organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the MoE.

He added that Allah the Almighty makes mankind live and help each other, possess a caring attitude and feeling towards people, experience hardship and shoulder responsibility collectively.

Meanwhile, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

The event also saw the recitation of Surah Al-Waqi’ah, Doa Munajat and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Congregants from over 80 mosques, suraus and religious halls as well as the workforce of the MoE and the MoRA as well as their family members, joined the Munajat. – Azlan Othman
