Several religious events were held to mark the birthday of Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.
The Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam (CWBD) held a mass Asar prayer and the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis/Madang yesterday.
The ceremony was attended by 280 members from the CWBD, the Brunei Darussalam Nurses Association (PENJURU), the Brunei Shell Ladies Association (BSLA) and the National Anti-Drug Association (BASMIDA).
CWBD President Datin Hajah Siti Hajar binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof and PENJURU President Datin Paduka Hajah Suraya Noraidah binti Abdullah as well as CWBD board of governance members were among those present.
A similar ceremony was organised by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) at its premises on Sunday.
KUPU SB Ra’es Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Khatam Al-Quran by students of KUPU SB and concluded with a Doa Kesyukuran.
The Welfare Body of Police’s Wives and Families (PEKERTI) also hosted a religious event at the Banquet Hall of the Gadong Police Headquarters yesterday.
It was attended by spouse of the Police Commissioner and PEKERTI President Pengiran Datin Hajah Zauyah binti Pengiran Haji Sulaiman, alongside members of the PEKERTI executive committee and representatives from seven PEKERTI branches.
The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer, followed by a Sunnat Hajat prayers, the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, a prayer for Her Majesty and concluded with a mass Isyak prayer.
Meanwhile, the women committee members of RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque in the Belait District held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony on Sunday.
Spouse of mosque affairs officer in the Belait District Hajah Noramalina binti Haji Md Ali was the guest of honour. The religious gathering was held to answer the call from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to turn the country into a Zikir Nation, and serve as a special pesambah for Her Majesty. – Azlan Othman, Fadley Faisal & Rokiah Mahmud
