A Doa Kesyukuran ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) was held yesterday to show gratitude to Allah the Almighty and foster closer ties between stakeholders, former principals, teachers and alumni of the institute.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was the guest of honour.
Also in attendance were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and senior government officers at the MoRA, invited guests, officers, staff and students of the institute.
The minister led the reading of Al-Fatihah while Khatam Al-Quran was led by alumnus of the institute Abdul Aziz bin Noor Nasran while a Doa Khatam was read by Muhammad Hilmi bin Muhammad Iskandar.
The ceremony also saw Takhtim and Doa Kesyukuran by mosque affairs officer Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin.
The institute, officiated by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has produced countless Al-Quran memorisers in the country.
ITQSHHB is the only study centre in line with the Academic and Dirasah Islamiyyah system in general education schools and Arabic schools in the Sultanate.
