Over 300 students from Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School (SMALHB) yesterday attended a religious ceremony that marked the start of the new school; year.
Officers at the Islamic Education Department and the Ministry of Religious Affairs also attended the ceremony.
The event began with the recitation of Selawat, followed by the recitation of SayyiduI Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Selawat Tafrijiyyah.
Surah Yaasiin, Doa Selamat and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam were also recited at the gathering.
A talk on disciplinary matters was delivered by Head of Students Discipline Division Hajah Masrinah binti Haji Hassan.
Similar religious gatherings were also held at other religious and Arabic schools across the country yesterday.
