The Mosque Affairs Department and Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque Takmir Committee members organised a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for mosque youth groups in conjunction with Tedarus Al-Quran and Tahlil for Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim, the late son of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman attended as the guest of honour.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, senior officials and staff of the ministry, mosque youth groups and residents of Kampong Jerudong were also present. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister, followed by Tadabbur Al-Quran delivered by Kampong Danau Mosque Imam Abdul Hadi bin Abdul Rahman.
The ceremony continued with a Khatam Al-Quran followed by the recitation of Tahktim, Tahlil, Doa Khatam and Doa Arwah.
The ceremony saw Dikir Marhaban, Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, as well as a presentation of donations for orphans, and the less fortunate.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held a Nuzul Al-Quran and handover of donations at the Banquet Hall, PMO Building yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah were the guests of honour.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Mohammad Izzuddin bin Zaman, followed by a talk on ‘Al-Quran and the Public Service in the Era of 4th IR’ from Senior Religious Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
The event also saw the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah, aimed at seeking blessings from Allah the Almighty for peace, well-being and protection from all disasters, misfortunes and tragedies, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ceremony saw the guests of honour present donations to 37 recipients from the PMO, before concluding with a Doa Selamat.
The event was organised by the Civil Service, Welfare, International and Media Division, and the Management Services Department.

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and its group of companies held its annual Tahlil ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and other royal family members at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong yesterday.
The delegation was led by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II as Chairman of the BIBD Board of Directors Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, followed by Tahlil and prayers led by Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Officer Imam Mohamad Hasnal bin Haji Mohamad.
Assistant Mufti (Buhuth) at the State Mufti’s Office as Chairman of the Syariah Advisory Body Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof, BIBD Deputy Managing Director Irwan bin Lamit, members of the Syhariah Advisory Body, BIBD management team and staff were also present.
Universiti Brunei Darussalam

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held a Khatam Al-Quran and handover of donations in conjunction with Nuzul Al-Quran, at the university’s mosque yesterday. The donations, contributed by the UBD community, were presented to orphans, widows and converts.
UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle was also present.
The ceremony began with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Ad-Dhuha led by the Imam of the mosque, followed by the recitation of verses of Al-Quran and Takhtim led by UBD Dikir, Nasyid and Tausyeh Club members. Doa Khatam was also read by the imam of the mosque.
The ceremony was organised by the Students Affairs Section, in collaboration with the Spiritual and Community Service Unit (UKKM) and UBD Graduates Association (PMUBD).

The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at Brunei International Airport Surau yesterday.
Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof was the guest of honour.
The ceremony, organised by the Department of Civil Aviation, began with mass Zohor prayers followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Takhtim and Doa Khatam led by Imam Haji Mohd Ashraf bin Haji Bujang.
Senior officials and staff at the MTIC also attended the ceremony.
Kampong Batu Marang Mosque Takmir Committee

The Kampong Batu Marang Mosque Takmir Committee held a Khatam Al-Quran at its premises recently.
It began with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of verses of Al-Quran and Takhtim.
The ceremony was further enlivened with mass recitation of Asmaa Ul-Husna, Doa Khatam, Doa Tahlil and Dikir Marhaban.
The ceremony concluded with Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
