Religious authorities flag brush, revoke pastry kitchen’s halal certification

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) has flagged bristles of the Skitto Clean brand cleaning brush product to be made out of swine.

The MoRA’s Halal Food Control Division, Department of Syariah Affairs conducted an inspection onto a business premise which sold the products after receiving tip-off from the public, and confirmed the findings from tests made onto the product by the Department of Scientific Services.

The business premise was ordered to remove the products from its shelves immediately.

Meanwhile, the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) revoked the halal certification of a pastry kitchen business located in Kampong Lambak, Jalan Berakas following findings that the business had violated halal certification requirements.
