The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) yesterday held religious activities in conjunction with International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at the Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque in Jalan Tungku, Gadong.
The activities including Sunnat Hajat and Sunnat Dhuha prayers and recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Doa Selamat was attended by NCB Director Dato Paduka Mohd Zalani bin Haji Ismail along with officers and staff.
June 26 has been declared by United Nation (UN) as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The national theme for the celebration ‘Visionary Youth without Drugs’ (Belia Berwawasan Tanpa Dadah), focuses on youth as future leaders, ready to contribute to national development and combatting drug abuse activities in the country. The celebration will include awareness and prevention activities nationwide throughout the year. – Rokiah Mahmud
