The Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) has announced the opening of application for its ‘Aliyah Qiraat Higher Diploma programme for the 2025-2028 academic session. The application is open from today to February 1 at 4pm.
The programme is open to citizens and permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam who are Muslims. Applicants must have a credit in Malay Language in the Brunei Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level examination and at least four passes with Jayyid grades in the Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB), including two core subjects: Al-Quran and Arabic Language, and two compulsory subjects: Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Tauhid or Tarikh. Alternatively, candidates may present four credits in GCE ‘O’ Level or IGCSE examinations, including Arabic Language with a minimum grade of C6.
Applicants with memorisation of at least 10 Juzuk of Al-Quran will be given preference. All candidates must pass an entrance interview and provide a valid health certificate from a recognised government health centre.
Non-citizens whose parents are employed in government departments or government-linked companies in Brunei Darussalam may also apply through a special application letter submitted to the ITQSHHB Principal.
Application forms are available at the ITQSHHB office, Simpang 175, KM 2, Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, Bandar Seri Begawan, during office hours or can be downloaded from the Ministry of Religious Affairs website at www.kheu.gov.bn.
