The Tourism Development Department under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) has opened registration to participate in the sixth Brunei December Festival 2022 (BDF 2022).
An online briefing session was held yesterday to share information on the month-long festival, attended by local event management companies that participated in past BDFs.
The Tourism Development Department said that BDF is an effort of the Brunei Tourism Board through the MPRT to encourage citizens and residents to enjoy their holidays in the country and promote the Sultanate as a tourism destination.
It also aims to offer interesting and attractive activities during the long school break in December for students and their families. The festival also serves as a platform to unearth talented youth by highlighting creativity and organisational skills in planning events.
Six categories are open for registration: Islamic; food and culinary; culture and art; sport; adventure and recreation; shopping, and digital technology and ICT.
Like last year, the Tourism Development Department as the secretariat of BDF2022 will screen events based on certain criteria before endorsing them to ensure smooth organisation and consistent quality of events under BDF 2022.
The registration form can be obtained at the website www.bruneitourism.com/bdf2022 or directly from the Tourism Development Department on the third floor of Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism building.
