Seventeen journalists from eight ASEAN member countries are currently in India for the ASEAN-India Media Exchange 2023 organised by the Indian Mission to ASEAN, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat were also part of the delegation. The programme’s objective is to strengthen mutual relations among ASEAN countries and enhancing knowledge of ASEAN and India through visits to New Delhi and Hyderabad.
The Visit which is part of the ASEAN-India Media Exchange Programme 2018-2024, aims to forge stronger ties and serves as a platform of cooperation. The ASEAN delegation had the opportunity to attend an India’s Group of 20 (G20) presidency event themed ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbukam’ or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.
A senior official from the G20 Secretariat delivered a briefing during which he said India’s G20 presidency runs from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023.
He noted that the G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation and plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues.
The delegates also visited the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Mantosh Sondhi Centre and was briefed by its senior economist Dr Parul Bhardwaj on India’s economy.
The programme also featuredvisits to Taj Mahal in Agra, Bharat Biotech, One District One Product (ODOP), participation in the 4th ASEAN India Youth Summit in Hyderabad and courtesy call to Chief Secretary of Telangana in Hyderabad.
