The Philippine Air Force resumed its Recurrent Pilot Training in Brunei Darussalam at the CAE Brunei MPTC in Bandar Seri Begawan with the arrival of Major Jayoma and Captain Irlandez of the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing (THW), Philippine Air Force (PAF) on August 17.

The training underscores the military relations between the Philippines and Brunei, highlighting its mutual commitment to security and defence cooperation.

The training was made possible with the assistance of Brunei’s Ministry of Defence which collaborated with CAE to provide the necessary services for the pilots.

The training began in 2022 to enhance and maintain the skills of the S-70i Black Hawk pilots focusing on emergency procedures. CAE has produced 28 trained Filipino pilots and will host 12 pilots from the 205th THW until October. The flight simulator recurrent training will resume next year as it was reprogrammed on a yearly basis.

The state-of-the-art facilities at CAE Brunei MPTC provide a sophisticated environment for PAF pilots to refine their skills on the S-70i Black Hawk helicopters, focusing on enhancing their operational capabilities, ensuring they remain at the forefront of aviation excellence.

The collaboration bolsters the skill set of the PAF pilots and strengthens the defence ties between the two nations.

The PAF pilots also participated in the flag-raising ceremony at the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam on August 19.
