Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Rector Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal attended a grand Ramadhan iftar hosted by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the OCIC Centre in Phnom Penh on March 24.
The event gathered over 6,300 attendees, including ministers, parliamentarians, members of the senate and guests from abroad.
The iftar was organised by the Cambodian Muslim community and coordinated by a Senior Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The UNISSA rector also paid a courtesy call on President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Leadership in Cambodia and Mufti of the Cambodian Government Sahibus Samahah Oknha Haji Kamaruddin Yusof at his office in Phnom Penh.
The rector expressed appreciation for the close cooperation between both parties and extended an invitation to the mufti to attend the International Syafi’i Madhhab Conference in Brunei on June 3. – Fadley Faisal
