Recruitment has been quite a challenge, says RB CEO

“The cost structure in the post- covid era is high, including the cost of food. In the aviation industry, many people left the industry in three years of covid-19 and we are currently trying to recruit or attract people back to the industry but it has been quite a challenge,” said Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Captain Sabirin bin Haji Abdul Hamid yesterday during a press conference on the ‘Hello Kawan’ campaign.

“To attract people back to the aviation industry,” he said. “We need to offer more money. This is not just in Brunei but also around the world. This is the reason of why the cost of flying has gone up.”

He added “Are we going back to pre-covid fare? I don’t see the fare going down as the cost of everything has gone up.

“The fare will continue to stay at a reasonable price but not as high as when we first re-opened the international borders following the pandemic.“
