Reckless driving puts lives at risk

I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern over the increasing recklessness of drivers on the road.

Just a few days ago, I narrowly avoided an accident at the Kiulap roundabout when a driver suddenly swerved and overtook me without warning.

The individual appeared to be in a rush, showing no regard for road etiquette or safety.

What was even more troubling was the complete lack of acknowledgment – no gesture of apology, just a quick acceleration as he sped away.

Unfortunately, my experience is not an isolated one.

Several of my colleagues have shared similar encounters – instances where impatient and careless drivers nearly caused accidents, all seemingly in a hurry. While I understand that the fasting month can test one’s patience and many are eager to reach home in time to prepare for sungkai, this is no justification for reckless driving that puts others at risk.

There is a time and place for everything and road safety should never be compromised.

A few minutes saved by dangerous manoeuvre is not worth the potential harm to oneself and others.

I urge all road users to exercise greater caution, patience and consideration for fellow drivers.

No matter how urgent one’s destination may be, arriving safely should always be the priority.

    Just another driver
