The Tutong District Youth Council (MBDT) distributed daily necessities to underprivileged families as part of its Day of Action 2021 event at the Kampong Tanjong Maya Community Hall last Sunday.
MBDT Permanent Chairman Muhammad Salanjat bin Muhammad Hanif said this was the second time that the organisation was collaborated with associations in Tutong District for charity; – the first event was a bazaar and sports fiesta to raise funds, which was handed over to the Department of Youth and Sports.
Funds for the daily necessities were raised by joint associations under MBDT as well as contributions from its members.
He also hoped that the charity event will continue, as there are still a lot of underprivileged families in the district that need assistance.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, who is also Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Keriam and Pekan Tutong, was present at the event.
