With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 34 senior officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were promoted yesterday during a ceremony at the Officers’ Mess, Bolkiah Garrison.
Five senior officers were promoted to sub colonel, 20 to sub lieutenant colonel and nine to acting lieutenant colonel.
RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan presented the insignia. Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof witnessed the event.
Officer from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Captain Abdul Mu’iz Azizi bin Zulkifli recited a Doa Selamat to bless the ceremony. – James Kon
