The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) marched along with 40 other armed forces from the Commonwealth and British Overseas Territories as it participated in the grand procession for the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom (UK) of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Her Majesty Queen Camilla in London, UK on Saturday.
The RBAF contingent which consisted of 10 personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force, the Royal Brunei Navy, the Royal Brunei Air Force, the RBAF Defence Academy, the RBAF Training Institute and the Special Forces Regiment, was led by Academic Advisor at the RBAF Defence Academy Major (U) Wan Muhammad Azem bin Haji Md Aminuddin.
The RBAF contingent underwent two weeks of drill practice and procession rehearsals with the other participating armed forces under the supervision of the British Armed Forces officers and instructors. The practice sessions were conducted in phases that concluded with integrating the Commonwealth Forces with the British Armed Forces in a mass parade consisting of 6,000 personnel.
His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla coronation at Westminster Abbey took place 70 years after his late mother Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on June 2, 1953.
