RBAF marks anniversary with a day of fun

The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in conjunction with its 62nd anniversary held a cycling expedition, group run championships, Kayuhan Bersama Keluarga, fun walk and family day open for RBAF officers, personnel and their families.

RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan attended along with spouse Datin Ummisyafinah binti Haji Zaini as the guest of honour.

Also present was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin.

The event began with a 62-kilometre (km) cycling expedition flagged off by Commander of Royal Brunei AirForce (RBAirF) Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, followed by the men’s group 16.2km run flagged off by Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Colonel Muhammad Wata bin Abdullah Awat.

The women’s group 12.6km run was flagged off by Head of Inspectorate Unit RBAF Colonel Dayang Suriyati binti Haji Junaidi.

Meanwhile, the 12km Kayuhan Bersama Keluarga was led by Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi and the 2.6km fun walk led by Datin Ummisyafinah.

Upon returning to Bolkiah Garrison, the RBAF commander and spouse visited the RBAF Museum and toured the vendors and fun fair areas in the effort to contribute to the Palestinian Peoples Humanitarian Fund.

The RBAF commander was then invited to the mini stadium football field where a ceremony was held to present prizes to the winners of the group run championships.
