The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) hosted its annual charity event, Sentuhan Kasih Ramadhan, for 122 orphans from 66 families of dearly departed RBAF personnel at Surau Al-Barakah, Rimba Air Force Base yesterday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil, followed by Doa Arwah led by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Japar from the RBAF Religious Directorate.
The ceremony proceeded with the donation presentation by RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan and his spouse Datin Ummisyafinah binti Haji Zaini, who is also President of RBAF Wives Welfare Association (BAKTI).
Service commanders and the Acting Joint Force Commander RBAF and their spouses, as well as senior RBAF officers and families of the orphans were also present.
The donations were raised from proceeds by the RBAF Welfare Fund, BAKTI, RBAF personnel and suraus. – Azlan Othman
