The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) will commence its 63rd anniversary celebration this weekend at Penanjong Garrison.
Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force Colonel Muhammad Wata bin Abdullah Awat highlighted events during the two-day celebration at a press conference yesterday.
This includes the solidarity jump involving paratroopers from 11 friendly nations, which will be the first ever to be shown involving special forces.
Another key highlight is the defence industry exhibition, showcasing technology relating to land forces and security from 20 different countries and 58 suppliers from Western countries, the Middle East and Asia, he said.
The grand parade on the opening day will be streamed live on television via RTB Sukmaindra and RTB Perdana, RTBGo Live at www.rtgo.bn and via radio channels at FM Nasional and Pilihan FM. There will be a bazaar featuring local entrepreneurs while family activities like horse riding and flying fox will also be featured.
The RBAF band will also be showcased at the event.
This year’s anniversary theme is ‘Towards Making the National Vision a Success’.
Around 3,500 visitors are expected at the event.
Seven car parks have been allocated for the event, with shuttle bus services available. – Fadley Faisal
