His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made an unscheduled visit to Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) Campus and RB Hangar in Jalan Kustin, Berakas yesterday.

His Majesty was greeted by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Captain Sabirin bin Haji Abdul Hamid and senior management of RB upon arrival. His Majesty took a closer look at several sections of the campus where the first visit was to the Orchid Building, one of the learning centres for RB‘s development training and counselling.

At this building section, His Majesty visited the Welfare, Counselling, Emergency Response, Business Re-Engineering, and Guest Care sections.

Other areas visited by the monarch were the Rose Building where the Finance Department is located, Simpur Building on the first floor accommodating the internal audit, People and Performance (Human Resource), the Legal and CEO office on the executive floor and the Commercial Department at the Hibiscus and Lily buildings.

Over 300 staff are working at the RB Campus, an open-office concept to encourage unity and teamwork.

After the visit to RB Campus, His Majesty toured the RB Hangar where the monarch visited the Engineering section: Base and Line Maintenance.

RB currently operates a fleet of 14 aircraft comprising five Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, seven Airbus A320NEOs and two Airbus A320CEOs.

The airline received a 5-Star rating from the 2020 APEX Official Airline RatingsTM and was ranked 66th among the top 100 airlines in the world and awarded 4-Star at the 2019 Skytrax Awards.

The ranking of RB by TripAdvisor users as a favourite in Travellers’ Choice Regional Airlines (Asia) for the past three years, further cemented its position among the world’s favourite airlines.

Last year, RB was awarded the highest seven-star rating against COVID-19 by the world’s best one-stop airline safety and product review website www.airlineratings.com.

Another award that the airlines took pride in is winning Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew for three consecutive years since 2020.
