A religious event to mark Royal Brunei Airlines’ (RB) 50th anniversary was held at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis/Madang yesterday.
Minister of Development and RB Chairman Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid attended the event.
The event featured a Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran by RB staff as well as mass prayer.
RB Chief Executive Officer Captain Sabirin bin Haji Abdul Hamid said, “Reaching this milestone is a moment of immense pride for all of us at RB. Our 50th anniversary is not just a celebration of RB but of the Sultanate, our people, and a shared vision for the future.”
The anniversary marks a chapter in RB’s commitment to delivering world-class service grounded in values of warmth, sincerity and excellence. As part of its ongoing commitment to expanding connectivity within the region, on its 50th anniversary, RB announced the relaunch of flights to Balikpapan, Indonesia, set to commence on February 19, 2025.
The flight, operating twice weekly on the Airbus A320neo, will strengthen cultural and economic ties between Brunei and East Kalimantan region.
The new service will also provide seamless connection to the new Indonesian future capital city, Nusantara Capital City in Kalimantan. – Fadhil Yunus
