Raya cheer for special needs children

ChampionX Brunei officers and staff organised a fun-filled Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for special needs students from Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh in Kuala Belait yesterday.

The centre’s acting head Hajah Winnieyati binti Haji Sunny welcomed the ChampionX country manager Evan Harvey and his team.

Harvey said the company’s core operating principle is ‘improving the lives’ of customers, employees and those around them.

“We are duty-bound and have a moral and ethical responsibility to give back to the communities we operate in. I am proud of the ChampionX team in Brunei for their willingness and engagement in community activities,” said Harvey.

Hajah Winnieyati said Hari Raya is a special occasion for reflection, gratitude, and unity.

“This celebration is a reminder that when companies such as ChampionX come together with organisations like ours, incredible things can happen as moments of joy, laughter and shared experiences are created that lift the spirits at the centre and strengthen the bonds of friendship.”

She expressed the centre’s gratitude to ChampionX for its dedication and support to the centre as well as making a positive impact on the community. The event saw special needs students and teachers receiving goodie bags handed out by Harvey. The centre also received an oven.

Other activities included Hari Raya songs sing-along and fun games before ending with lunch.

The visitors also toured the centre’s rooms and facilities.

The Hari Raya celebration is one of many annual activities organised by the company.

ChampionX previously held initiatives included a blood donation drive in February, and volunteering activities at the Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) Social Kitchen Community during Ramadhan. Upcoming activities include tree planting and beach cleaning campaigns.
