The village consultative councils of Kampong Kuala Ungar and Kampong Tasek Merimbun, together with Persatuan Kereta Tahan Lasak Brunei (PKTLB) and BROTHERHOOD group hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for both villages in the Tutong District.
The celebration follows the PKTLB Titian Amal Ramadhan programme held on April 7 which provided assistance to 41 villagers from Kampong Kuala Ungar and Kampong Tasek Merimbun.
During the celebration, a gambus and singing performance was carried out by Dusun ethnic from both villages.
The BROTHERHOOD group presented sudu emas to 41 recipients to symbolise living well in the future.
Green packets were also handed to to 20 orphans and 20 children from underprivileged families.
Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Penghulu of Mukim Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman was the guest of honour.
LegCo member and Penghulu of Mukim Ukong Yang Berhormat Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub, Kampong Kuala Ungar Acting Village Head Sani bin Nangkat, PKTLB President Abidin bin Haji Musa, along with SP Tan and Sheikh Rashid Abdul Salam of the BROTHERHOOD group were present. – James Kon
