The nightly Ramadhan Tedarus ceremony for 1446 Hijrah at Istana Nurul Iman, which began on the first night of Ramadhan, concluded on Saturday evening with a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at Baitur Rahmah, Istana Nurul Iman graced by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basit bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman led the recitations, followed by state dignitaries taking turns according to protocol.
The event continued with mass Takhtim and Tahlil with Doa Khatam and Tahlil read by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Hamidon bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Hamid.
The ceremony was further enlivened with Dikir Syarafil Anam, performed by Begawan-Begawan Pehin Khatib and Begawan-Begawan Mudim led by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Hamidon.
To seek blessings, a Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Salim.
Cheterias, Cabinet ministers, Legislative Council members, deputy ministers and Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan were also present. – Lyna Mohamad
