The Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM) launched its 11th annual Ramadhan Project distributing food packs among selected families for breaking their fast.
A total of 500 food packs are distributed daily in Brunei-Muara District, 163 packs for Temburong District and 193 packs for Belait District, from the second to the 16th day of Ramadhan.
The project, running since 2015, is led by MKM Vice President with the president’s approval and supported by volunteers, including university students, scouts and government and private sector employees. The volunteers help prepare and organise food packs for MKM families.
The iftar or food packs consist of rice, vegetables and side dishes, changing daily according to a set food cycle, with all expenses funded by public donations. – Lyna Mohamad
