Over 300 orphans, single mothers receive donations
Over 300 orphans and single mothers from Mukim Kuala Belait received donations during a sungkai event on Sunday.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann, who is also Kampong Bukit Sawat Village Head, was the guest of honour. The event was organised by the Kampong Pandan ‘A’ Village Consultative Council in collaboration with Perusahaan Yazid Bersaudara Sdn Bhd.
Turkish Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy and Perusahaan Yazid Bersaudara Director Haji Badusha were welcomed by Kampong Pandan ‘A’ Village Head Abdul Aziz bin Haji Seri. – Daniel Lim

Pusat Ehsan residents enjoy special treat
Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam received a donation of McDonald’s meals and green packets from YMRM Group of Companies on Sunday.
The donations were presented by Pusat Ehsan Executive Trustee Pengiran Datin Hajah Noraini Pengiran Dipa Negara Laila Diraja binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin, Chairman and founder of YMRM Group of Companies Ramesh Jiwatram Bhawnani and Managing Director of YMRM Group Hitesh Ramesh Bhawnani alongside representatives from Makan Ceria Sdn Bhd.
The donation aimed at bringing joy and comfort to the residents of Pusat Ehsan. The meals were provided as a special treat while green packets were distributed as a gesture of good fortune and prosperity. – Fadley Faisal

10 families in Kampong Berserumpun receive donations
A total of 10 single mothers and low-income families from Kampong Berserumpun Zone 4, RPN Kampong Panchor, Mukim Mentiri, received a donation from the Helping Hearts Charity Society on Sunday.
The donation presentation ceremony was held at the residence of the Village Head of Kampong Berserumpun Zone 4 Faidil Rosemady bin Mohamad.
Single mother Susi Susantri binti Yusup expressed gratitude and appreciation for the support.
She said the donation would not only help with the preparations for Syawal but also be used for her daily needs.
Helping Hearts Charity Society President Bastine Paul said he hoped the donations would assist the families in their preparations for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. – Fadley Faisal

500 meals distributed to underprivileged families
Over 60 volunteers from Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) in collaboration with the Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) launched the Social Kitchen Community Initiative recently.
The meal distribution on March 19-20, involved volunteers and single mother entrepreneurs, where they prepared, packaged and distributed 500 meals to underprivileged families in the Brunei-Muara District, including Kampong Sungai Akar, Kampong Subok and Jalan Sentosa.
JPMC Chief Medical Officer Dr Meera Sahib Kabeer and JPMC Acting Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Bun Pei Ling led the distribution. – Fadley Faisal
Hari Raya donations delivered to Mukim Kiudang families
Some 31 individuals residing in Mukim Kiudang received donations during a ceremony at the residences of Acting Village Head of Kampong Pengkalan Mau, Kampong Bakiau and Kampong Batang Mitus recently.
Non-governmental organisation Brotherhood Charity and individual donors presented the donations to the underprivileged families in preparation of the upcoming Hari Raya celebration. The donations were handed over to 21 recipients at the ceremony. The remaining 10 donations were sent to the recipients’ homes. – James Kon

Families, orphans receive donations
Poomaan Group organised two donation events over the weekend, reaching out to orphans and underprivileged families as part of its annual Ramadhan initiatives.
A donation ceremony was held at Kampong Panchor Murai Mosque in collaboration with the mosque on March 22 where 13 orphans from Kampong Panchor Murai received cash donations and essential supplies. Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Zainol bin Haji Mohamed and Poomaan Group represented by its managers, Abu Taher and Haji Maideen bin Abdur Rahim presented the donations.
Meanwhile, the group also held another donation presentation at its Kampong Tanjong Nangka branch on March 23.
A total of 16 families and orphans from Kampong Tanjong Nangka, Kampong Sengkurong, Kampong Mulaut, Kampong Jerudong and Kampong Lugu received essential items such as cooking oil, rice and canned drinks.
Acting Village Head of Kampong Tanjong Nangka Haji Hamdan bin Ajak presented the donations alongside Poomaan Group’s management team. – Lyna Mohamad

Hari Raya hampers distributed to 20 families in Seria
The Malayali Association conducted its 11th annual Hari Raya donation drive phase-2 recently.
The association handed over Hari Raya donation hampers to 20 needy families in Pusat Insani, Seria on Sunday.
The event started with Doa Selamat and a speech by Acting Penghulu Mukim Seria Khairul Abidin bin Haji Md Yassin. Village Head of Kampong Panaga Muhd Nurzairie bin Abdullah Peter was also present.
The company also collaborated with Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien College last week as part of the company’s 11th annual Hari Raya donation drive phase-1 in Bandar Seri Begawan.
