The Ministry of Education (MoE), through its Department of Administration and Services and the Department of Information and Communication Technology held the inauguration ceremony of the ministry’s One Stop Services Centre and the launch of the Digital Transformation Plan yesterday.
Present as the guest of honour for the inauguration and launch at the ministry’s headquarters was Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Education Officer from the Department of Co-Curriculum Education Mohd Zainuddin Shah bin Talip and followed by a welcoming speech from Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad.
The One Stop Services Centre began operations on September 1 and functions as a focal point for the public to obtain over-the-counter services for services under the purview of the ministry.
Among those included are the Department of Administration and Services, the Department of Examinations, the Department of Private Education, the Department of Educators Management, the Department of Scholarship Management, the Department of Schools and the Department of Estate Planning and Management.
The ceremony was followed by the launch of the Digital Transformation Plan, which aims to increase awareness of stakeholders and the public on the MoE’s direction in implementing digital initiatives to support the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025 on realising the Sultanate as a tech-savvy nation, in line with the goals of Brunei Vision 2035.
Under the plan, several digital initiatives are expected to encourage transformation in the delivery of education more effectively and improve the quality of the services through three main focus areas – educational technology; management technology; and implementation of policies and infra-structure.
