Porsche Brunei, represented by QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd, marked the 25th anniversary of its operation in the Sultanate this year with the launch of the latest Porsche high performance sports car – 911 GT3.
Those who purchase a Porsche between January 1 and July 31 will stand a chance to win a limited edition Porsche Design timepiece.
QAF Eurokars General Manager Lahiru de Silva and Porsche Centre Brunei Sales Manager Anwar Brahim unveiled the Porsche 911 GT3 yesterday.
De Silva said, “We are pleased to announce that we will be giving an exclusive timepiece from Porsche Design to one lucky winner during our 25th anniversary celebration in August this year,” adding that there is an exciting line-up of activities to mark the milestone.
The new 911 GT3 is developed in close collaboration with Porsche Motorsport to transfer racing technology into a production car.
The 911 GT3’s double-wishbone front suspension, aerodynamics with sawn neck rear wing mounting and diffuser originate from the 911 RSR GT racing car.
The 375kW (510PS) 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine is based on the 911 GT3 R tried and tested in endurance racing.
As a high performance sport car, the 911 GT3 has a top speed of 320 kilometres per hour (318 kilometres per hour with PDK-Porsche dual clutch transmission) which is faster than the previous 911 GT3 RS. The new 911 GT3 can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in 3.4 seconds.
The cockpit is designed in line with the current model generation with an additional track screen. At a touch of a button, it reduces digital displays to the left and right of the central rev counter to show vital information such as tyre pressure and oil temperature. It also includes a visual shift assistant with coloured bars as well as motorsport-derived shift light.
Porsche also offer customisation of the GT models through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur range available for the new 911 GT3 and supplemented by GT3-specific options such as lightweight roof made of carbon fibre.
Porsche Brunei is offering limited edition units of the new 911 GT3 for pre-order.
