Those living in the same household will need to restart their quarantine from day one if one of them tests positive during the period, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in yesterday’s daily press conference.

“If a family member is infected with COVID-19, others living in the same household will need to undergo quarantine for five days as they are considered close contacts,” said the minister.

He said if any of the close contacts test positive during the quarantine period, then everyone living in the household will have their quarantine order reset to day one. The minister said it was important for close contacts to report positive test results from COVID-19 antigen rapid test (ART).

The household members are also not allowed to leave the house, as the possibility of meeting and having meals together could not be ruled out, said the minister.
