I would like to bring to light the deplorable condition of public toilets opposite Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
For two months now, these facilities are filled with rubbish, including single-use diapers. There are faeces splattered all over the cubicles, as well as rice and vomit clogging the sinks. One has to wonder where all the cleaners have gone.
What irks me more is the missing sense of responsibility among certain public members when it comes to using public amenities. Should we not be grateful that we have been provided all these amazing facilities free of charge?
To those who have ruined these facilities for the rest of us: is it such a pain to flush the toilet after use? Or throw leftover food and other waste in the bin?
I hope the authorities would assign a cleaning crew to maintain these toilets while educating the people on the proper etiquettes in using public facilities.
Even if the solution is to start charging the public, I’m sure a lot of us would rather part with our money to ensure a better experience.
