The Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) and Muallaf associations nationwide, is holding Fathul Barakah 3.0 project to provide the public an opportunity to donate food to eligible Muallaf recipients, prior to the holy month of Ramadhan.
The two-day project, which started yesterday, is held simultaneously at PDI in Kampong Pulaie as well as Dakwah Unit offices in Belait, Tutong and Temburong districts.
Donations are received via drive-through and basic necessities needed include rice, sugar (in two-kilogramme packaging), cooking oil, flour, dried prawn or anchovies, onions, biscuits and canned foods.
The project in Belait District saw contributors dropping off donations at the PDI office in Jalan Maulana.
The contributions were collected by PDI officers who inventoried the items for ease of distribution later.
The project continues today from 8.30am to 4pm, with an aim of supporting new converts in the proper practice of the Islamic faith, especially during the holy month and fostering closer ties among Muallaf associations and PDI.
