Pakatan Sang Jati Dusun (PSJD) won the Dirgahayu Cup after defeating the Kudat Classic from Sabah, Malaysia with a score of 2-1 at the Berakas Sports Complex on Sunday.
The veteran team from Tutong District brought home a BND7,000 prize and trophies.
Kudat Classic received BND2,000 while third-placed SVFT received BND1,000.
Mohd Fazley from Kudat Classic was named best player while PSJD’s goalkeeper Alizanda Sitom was best goalkeeper.
Tournament chairman Matali bin Haji Mohd Tahir presented the prizes.
Some 24 teams, including 11 from Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, competed in the three-day tournament organised by Kampong Sungai Kedayan Youth Football Club and Litmus Management Services Company.
Meanwhile, the Dirgahayu Cup Junior Championship for Under-12 was won by COT after defeating Kasuka. Projek Ikan Pusu finished third.
Mohd Waie Harith bin Mohd Wardun was named best goalkeeper while Awangku Mohd Luqman Imanul Hakeem bin Pengiran Mohd Shaidil was top scorer. – Azlan Othman
